Falmouth is a town located in Barnstable County, and is coextensive with Cape Cod, with a 2000 census population of 32,660. It is well known as the terminal for the Steamship Authority ferries to Martha's Vineyard and also known for its warm waters and cool summertime breezes, great public beaches, and some of the finest restaurants on Cape Cod.

EDUCATION
Falmouth's public school system serves about 4,500 students yearly with four elementary schools, namely East Falmouth, Mullen-Hall, North Falmouth, and Teaticket, two middle schools, Morse Pond Middle School and Lawrence Junior High School, and one high school, Falmouth High School. Falmouth high school students can also attend the Upper Cape Regional Technical School in Bourne free of charge, or Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis, also free of charge. Falmouth also has two private schools: Falmouth Academy, a private school which serves grades 7 through 12; and Heritage Christian Academy, a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade school which is affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Post-secondary students living in the area have several choices not to far away from Falmouth: University of MAssachusetts, Dartmouth Campus, Bridgewater State College and Bristol Community College, to name a few.

If you are travelling to Martha's Vineyard, Falmouth, is a mainland departure point for Martha's Vineyard, and is an easy day trip to close-by destinations such as Plymouth, Hyannis, Provincetown, Boston, Providence and Newport. Falmouth is also known for its arts and culture events & activities, such as the Woods Hole Film Festival or Cape Cod Theatre Project, or any of of its many year-round and summer theatres.
